Mounting cylinder head B18 / B20 / B30
Before mounting the cylinder head at all, you must have threaded the threads for the cylinder head bolts in the block.
The cylinder head gasket is mounted with the widest steel edge around the cylinders upwards.
Fit the cylinder head bolts after lubricating them abundantly under the bolt head, lubricate the threads as well. (use regular engine oil)
Now tighten the bolts, starting in the middle (two and two) and working your way out. First step 2kpm, second step 6kpm and last step 9.5kpm.
Install push rods and rocker arm bridge.
Adjust the valves.
Fit the cover and top up with mineral oil (with zinc additive)
Warm the engine, preferably until the thermostat has opened, keep the engine speed at about 2500 -3000rpm.
Let the engine cool down for about 20-30 minutes.
Now tighten the cylinder head bolts in the same order as before, with the difference that you loosen one bolt at a time about a quarter of a turn and tighten with full torque immediately.
(NOTE one at a time)
Refit the rocker arm bridge and adjust the valves.
If you are serious now, you can also change the oil + filter.
