General description of B18 / B20 / B30 engine renovation

The engine is completely disassembled, including plugs and freeze plugs
Everything is washed in our flushing machine
Then all parts are inspected visually
If everything looks good, we will continue to wash the parts in our ultrasonic washing that have acid-based liquid
This acid wash removes all oil deposits in oil channels etc.

The motor block is drilled to the desired dimension and then hones to the right dimension
We top deck the engine block plus change cam bearings and test mount the camshaft
As well as top cleaning threads and the threads of the frame bearing cover
After this, the block is thoroughly washed and new plugs and freeze plugs are installed

The crankshaft is ground or polished then balanced together with the flywheel and the rest of the crank section
Crankshaft and flywheel are cleaned

The cylinder head is glass-blasted after the ultrasonic washing and has the following new parts
Valve guides / valves / valve locks / valve springs / freeze plugs / in some cases new valve washers are also fitted
Surfaces are leveled
Hard valve seats are fitted for the exhaust valves to be able to run on unleaded petrol
The valve seats are mira milled and the valves are ground
Valve stem height is adjusted
Then the cylinder head is cleaned and finely washed with all parts
After that, the water pipe is reassembled inside the cylinder head plus freeze plugs / valves etc.

The rocker arm bridge is dismantled and checked
Contact surface of the rocker arms is sanded and the bushing is checked / replaced if necessary
Threads are cleaned
Rocker arm brackets and rockers are glass-blasted
The shaft plugs at the ends are replaced with threaded plugs
Everything is washed and new nuts are fitted

The connecting rods get new bushings in the cases that are needed after the glass blasting
New nuts are fitted
Then we honing them in large and small end and directed plus weight adjusted
After this, they are thoroughly washed

The pistons are weight adjusted if necessary
Piston rings are ground into the correct piston ring gap

The front transmission cover and rear cover are changed to newly manufactured with seal if it is available for your particular engine
Otherwise, the original covers are washed and glassblasted and processed for mounting the seal if this has not already been done plus cleaning thread

When mounting the engine, all clearances are measured so that we know that all tolerances are right

We could print out exactly every step and step we do with every detail, but we do not think it is necessary
